Senate House protest, May 1969

Setting off for the protest outside the new Senate House building at the official opening by Princess Alexandra on 15 May 1969. Holding the main banner are June Cattell and Mike Woods and between them Dave Harvey. To their right is Bill Hooper. Can you identify anyone else?

  1. The picture of Vine St looks as if it could have been from the 1930s or earlier. We really were dealing with the last of the ‘old’ Liverpool in that area. I say ‘last of’, but of course streets and houses like these can still be found across the city forty years later.
