A notice issued by the Vice-Chancellor announcing the meeting in Mountford Hall on March 9:
THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL
NOTICE BY THE VICE-CHANCELLOR
It has been represented to me that members of the University would welcome an opportunity of receiving a statement on certain issues which have been under discussion during the present Term. Accordingly, I have arranged to address a meeting, to which all members of the University are invited, in the MOUNTFORD HALL on Monday, 9 March at 12.30 p.m.
The matters on which I have been asked to make a statement are:
- The Guild of Undergraduates
- University files on undergraduates
- Chemical and biological warfare
- The office of Chancellor
- The University’s investments
With regard to the last item, I hope the University Treasurer (Mr HB Chrimes) will also be present to make a statement.
There may be other matters of current interest on which members of the University may feel that some statement might usefully be made at this stage. If time permits, I will endeavour to deal with those of which advance notice is given and this may be done by leaving a brief statement of the subject matter in a sealed envelope with the Porter at the Reception Desk in the entrance hall of the Senate House by 4.30 pm on Friday, 6 March, 1970.
