University deny files on students’ politics

This morning the Liverpool Daily Post reports on the issue of secret files, which has been raised now at Liverpool University:

A group of students at Liverpool University plan a meeting today to decide whether to stage their own sit-in over alleged secret files being kept on students.

Sit-ins have been staged at a number of other universities where students claim files have been kept on their political activities.

Last night a Liverpool University spokesman said they did not keep such files. “The University’s records consist of the information which is given on the university registration forms by the students themselves and of the academic results which are subsequently added by the University”.
